I am installing FreeBSD 14 on an MSI fanless computer with an Intel Core i3-1215u (Alder Lake) CPU. When booting the installer, it always hangs. As shown in the attached image of the final messages, it has issued some error messages about things not working as expected, but when I look them up, they don’t appear to be showstoppers.
I am kind of at a loss as to how to troubleshoot this, since I don’t have a working console. In my past life as an IBM systems programmer, I would have taken a standalone dump, then processed it on a working machine. I don’t know if FreeBSD has anything like this, or if the x86 architecture even supports booting a dump program without destroying the existing contents of memory.
Could someone point me in the right direction as to how to troubleshoot this?
Thanks!
