Hello.

Got a weird bug with my new FreeBSD 13.0 installation.
12.2 version of FreeBSD did shut down my laptop OK, but 13.0 (i used 13.0 from -BETA1) does not.
Laptop reboots instead of shutting down.
How can I fix that, and which additional info i need to provide about my hardware?

Thank you.

What's the brand and type of the laptop? So we can lookup the hardware too.

Try sysctl hw.efi.poweroff=0
Thanks too. It solved almost the same trouble on a VM under VirtualBox/Windows with a FreeBSD 13.0 guest. I noticed that this problem does not occur with legacy BIOS booting.

Have you more details about this tunable and what this setting does?

Code:
$ sysctl -d hw.efi.poweroff
hw.efi.poweroff: If true, use EFI runtime services to power off in preference to ACPI
