Solved FreeBSD 10.3 AWS Amazon EC2 update

Hi All,

I just started using FreeBSD 10.3 in Amazon EC2 which is awesome and this is an unbelievable huge thanks for the creators/maintainers!!!
But this is what I found in the description:
"freebsd-update cannot be used (due to local patches needed for the FreeBSD/EC2 platform).
I'm wondering how I can update the system/deploy new patch levels?
Tried to find the answer in the forums but no luck.

I had the same question, and I received a completely satisfying answer in this thread on the freebsd-cloud mailing list:

Since then, I am happily using freebsd-update(8) for keeping my EC2 installations updated.
