Firefox returns NS_ERROR_FAILURE for all websites after update

Hello everyone,

I run FreeBSD 13.1 in a VM (Virtualbox).
It worked fine up until a couple of days ago, when I updated Firefox and now it simply stopped working. I can't open a single website, and I only see an NS_ERROR_FAILURE in the networking-tab when debugging.

Google did not help much. Chromium runs fine. The only rc.conf setting I manually changed pretty recently was the kern_securelevel (= 1). And if it plays any role, I use XFCE4.

What could the problem be?

No clue what the issue is. However, if you just want firefox to start working again - have you tried renaming your .mozilla directory or starting with a new profile? Firefox might have some corruption in your profile directory.

Simply run cd; mv .mozilla .mozilla.old; firefox and see whether that allows it to launch again?

NS could equal Name Server.
That would make sense if you can't pull up websites.

So this could be part of that dhcp crap built into browser now.
