Few questions for experts.

Greetings all,

I decided to install Fluxbox. The wiki (http://fluxbox.sourceforge.net/docbook/en/html/chap-slit.html) claims that slits can be disabled at compile time, but does not give any detail how to do it. Could you please advise?

Is there a similar ability to disable tabbed windows?

Is there any GUI front-end that would allow controlling wireless connections? I.e., run background scan, and offer to select/add networks? I can manipulate the configuration files from a CLI, but this would be helpful.

Kindest regards,

M

Dear killasmurf86,

thank you for the reply. I do know how to install from ports. However, I did not know whether I need to configure a file to access/disable the option(s), or whether the

Code:
# make config

will offer me the option. Now I know. ;)

Thank you,

M

NOTE: I recommend using ports-mgmt/portmaster for installing and updating ports....
Or if you don't want that, you can run # make config-recursivebefore make install to configure all dependencies.... otherwise installation may (and will) stop at configuration screen until you configure them.... :).....
this may be annoying

Dear killasmurf86,

I am already doing that, but thank you for the recommendation anyway.

Kindest regards,

M
