Hi
I have installed Xorg, XDM and Xfce4 (with ports).
When I
When I configure xdm to start at boot I get prompt to log in, I enter root and password for root. It just takes me back to the same prompt to log in.
Some background information: I have rebooted 30 times, annoying that one can not use ctrl + f2 to change terminal, like when XDM is active. I had to use single user, su root and the remount with rw, so I could edit files.
I wonder if xinitrc has something to do with it. I can't find a local .xinitrc in /root.
I have been away from BSD and Linux. But in my youth I managed to setup FreeBSD and Gentoo. As long as the documentation was word for word correct. The FreeBSD documentation fails to guide me.
