"F" at boot screen ?

On one of my systems there's a stray F character in top left corner of the boot screen.
What does this do, or what is it for ?
Thanks for any tips or clues.

I see a cursor if there wasn't a bootable device found; so it just could come from your BIOS. But don't ask me why, and what's for, modern hardware may show lots of numbers, signs, and stuff, and you can be happy if you get more information about anything but "...the best blend from carefully hand selected home brewn swills..."

A stray "F" usually points to a BIOS/UEFI debug code—likely harmless, but check your motherboard manual or update the BIOS to be sure.

When booting Linux, it'd display something quick first line like "Booting disto". I'm thinking if something display-related stops that from printing all the way, it'd stop at "B".

I'm thinking the "F" is for FreeBSD when selected from the bootloader, and it just stopping at "F" :p (not too sure what could or might cause the partial print)

Does FreeBSD boot or switch to verbose text after the "F" is shown?

Sorry for not being helpful but: Maybe it pays you respect?
That'd be hilarious if it left the "F" and didn't boot (RIP booting FreeBSD) :p
