To use curl, I need a internet connection?
If I have a internet connection, I would use online dictionary.

You can install net/dictd and net/dictd-database to run a local dictionary server.

I don't think this includes the Oxford dictionary, but it includes WordNet and others.

For a client you can use nickednamed's script (with localhost instead of dict.org) or textproc/dict.

Kiwix wiki dictionaries work offline if you donwload the zim file.
I use kiwix plugin for librewolf, how can i run kiwix standalone by the way in FreeBSD?

On the off chance you just want to make sure you are spelling stuff right -- the traditional tool on *BSD, Linux and (most) Unix based systems is aspell(1) or ispell(1). There is (NO ONLINE) piece to that - what you see is what you get (WYSIWYG). You can also use the look(1) command to quickly lookup a word:
