on our mac, we start it as a GUI app and put server-start in our init, and then our terminal has an alias to run emacsclient -t. as far as doom-emacsclient, we believe in the philosophy that using someone else's emacs config is like using their toothbrush.
I just get learn about it (going through tutorial). Yes, it works. As emacs starts fast in text mode, it's enough for me now, and as I use it not a lot, I do not get some use of it now.
