Solved drm-61-kmod: Thinkpad 7840U/780M support

Hi,
I hope this question must have been answered somewhere but I cannot find it. Given the 14.1-RELEASE and drm-61-kmod, does anybody know whether the recent AMD stuff is supported -- namely, AMD 7840U with 780M gpu. Considering a new Lenovo T14 as my daily driver. I don't care about minor glitches because I mostly use it with an external display and lid closed. What about Wayland? Never made it usable with my current NVIDIA gpu.

Thanks so much for any experience/advice!

As far as i understand it, drm-61-kmod did not make it into 14.1. Its not in pkg and the ports package states its for 14 STABLE May 8 and above. 14.1 was branched at May 3.

So for now we are stuck at RDNA2 Support in 14.1. However I am also not sure about the 780M in drm-61-kmod. 780M support was introduced in Linux 6.4.

drm61 is working for me, i just installed some other drivers and build the drm with the drm-61-kmod port.

It'd be great if somebody could verify that. But that's exactly my suspicion that 780M is simply too recent...
