Solved Do I need to be familiar with Unix before getting into FreeBSD?

I've played around with the terminal on Ubuntu Linux before. I've only done some really basic stuff like moving across directories, modifying files etc.
Should I learn more before getting into FreeBSD?

Great. That will be mostly the same, so you should quickly pick it up. Basic things will be the same, there are differences of course but those are specific details and some things "under the hood" as they say.

You can learn as you go ;)

There's plenty to read here: FreeBSD Handbook
