Display settings not saved.

Have the computer connected to two display devices.
The DP port is considered to be the primary by default by the the system (probably by the motherboard).
But I use the HDMI port to hook up with my monitor.

Each time I logging in to KDE, I'm in the extended desktop.
I have to run the command line for system settings and then drag blindly to get the window to my monitor.
Yes, I can get the window and do my settings.
But...the settings seem to be unsavable, so the problem comes up again and again.

Have no problems with other settings like fonts, themes... those are done once set.

Is there a certain .conf file that I can write the display settings in once and forever?

thanks!

For the Gnome problem I want to say dconf may be the issue but not sure on Plasma. I have not used Plasma or Gnome on FreeBSD so can't speak to the possible issues either DE may have.
