Solved DHCPREQUEST on ue0

Whilst familiarising myself with /var/log/daemon.log on my Internet Gateway (192.168.1.1) I noticed this:-

ue0 is connection to my phone which is USB tethered to provide Internet access. It works exceptionally well.

Do these entries mean that every half hour my server attempts to renew its lease from my ISP (phone company) ?

It's six for one, half-a-dozen for the other.

DHCP has a lease time. At 50% of that timer a client will try to renew the lease. If you're seeing a renewal every 30 minutes the lease time was probably set to 60 minutes.
