I have to say that I don't considered myself a slave of my smartphone but I use it a lot.
I use my iphone as my podcast player, medicine tracker, calendar app (I'm almost 57, my memory is not that good anymore...), payment method, train ticket holder, identity card, driving license, coffee machine app, sleep and heart tracker via the Garmin app, password manager, document scanner, banking app, printing app, calculator, wikipedia, amazon ....
And these are only the functions I use every day, there are so many others. It's a 12mini, so not a modern device by any means, cheap when bought used. It's a perfect replacement of so many things nowadays.
Just no social media (I don't consider Whatsapp one of them, at least I use it only as a messaging app - no chats apart from my extended family).
