I got that above. Origin was that i need to add myself to the wheel group to get su privileges.

All this is to get a gui installed.

is there a fix for this?

Are you executing pw(8) as root? You cannot add yourself to other groups for obvious reasons.

someone over on discord helped me fix it. however, i cannot start dbus after installing xorg
