Cybersecurity and AI role

My doubt is..cybersecurity people will be replaced by AI?

I want to start "officially" into this, looking for bugs,security holes,etc
allways do this but for hobby, now I see the
oportunity to get a job with this
(I am unemployed about a year ago..is fuck#$ hard)
for my point of view the AI still is below to replace humans in this field
I got my personal methods that AI wont do
and the companies spend more money finding false positives/bugs in AI results that in real results

the thread is open, I dont know too much about AI and dont like it, but the people who know..
hackers(in the traditional mean of the word)
can be replaced by AI?
 
Giving corporate entities a finger in local security is a real bad idea. People are going to buy it, unfortunately. We seem to be losing control of our computers because ignorance rules.
 
wolffnx should've written f#$ing, instead. Ha, ha, ha... It's kind of funny. He redacted the wrong letters. Anyhow, I don't see anything wrong with it. drhowarddrfine's rebuke is totally unwarranted. wolffnx used the word as an intensive of his dire situation, which doesn't break the rules of politeness. Besides, only admins should administer general rebukes, in my opinion.
 
AlfredoLlaquet Some level of politeness and decorum has always prevailed here on this forum and many are offended by such language in polite company. There is no need for vulgar terms. Otherwise called "gutter talk", language used by people who live in the gutter (or frequent reddit).

If one stoops to that level, it can only get worse. Use proper English wording and terms.
 
The branch of computer security that deals with software bugs (holes) is probably the least likely to be heavily impacted by AI automation. All this stuff has to be reviewed and verified by humans, otherwise it's at best ineffective or at worst opens more holes.

I'm in favor of using proper English and trying to make one's posts understandable and readable.

This is a sensible analysis. I concur. Ergo, amigo wolffnx, full steam ahead with your efforts.
 
where we currently are in the hype curve of "AI", some companies will replace parts of their workforce with AI. I predict that these companies are not the smart ones; they will not survive in the long run (in 5 - 10 years most of them will not be here).
People who treat "AI" as a tool and know its weaknesses and strengths have a much higher chance of handling "AI" right.
Security (cyber security and others) are interesting jobs, and the field is one that has a huge need of human oversight, decision and control.

There will be more, not less need for humans in the security field in the future. Yes, the jobs will change, and yes, people woking here will have to use "AI" tools.
 
Figuring out how to jailbreak chatbots or AI agents (and how to prevent this from happening) is a whole new field in cybersecurity. Maybe shift your focus?
 
I agree with tingo and SirDice
Look at AI as a tool, like "old school" static analysis to find what may be a bug/security hole.
Use the tool to find potential stuff, use a human to evaluate, validate and think about the fix.

Is a good one, funny fact , my 8 years old daugther one day make "crash" the meta chatbot of whastapp 2 times, asking questions
I dont like very much this AI thing,maybe is like you say, and is a new field emergin of AI but I prefer the old way

is a game changer,yes,but is not the apocaliptic scene
another oportunity I see is revealing the holes that AI left in companies or small bussiness,when the owners are that kind of people who dont knows nothing about the subjet,only want to get up on this(I see a lot of this people)

I think a lot about a time ago,for the people with knowledge is hard too,if you want use a cellphone or not go to live in the woods,
leaving google..etc..etc...there is a chance

the big "shoot" will be receive is when the AI get put by force in computer chips..intel or amd , already was one is I remember well
but is another subjet for anothing post..
