Hi,
I have a clean 14.1-RELEASE install, which installs and works fine - but I get a hard crash as soon as I try to load i915kms.
The hardware is a 13900K on a Z690 chipset, with Intel UHD 770 onboard graphics plus 2 x Intel ARC A380 graphics cards - so I guess not too exotic in terms of chips, but probably unusual in the configuration :/ Its a fresh install of latest 14.1-RELEASE, with nothing else on it. The crash happens every time, after cleanly booting up and just running `kldload i915kms`. This is with the latest drm-61-kmod package installed.
I couldn't see how to get any more useful info yet than the screenshot below - /var/crash doesn't have much, and I can't seem to get a dump of the messages shown in the screenshot (they're not present in dmesg after rebooting).
Any help appreciated - and/or any pointers as to where I can find more useful diagnostics info. If the next step is to start re-plugging hardware then so be it, although hopefully not
Hardware probe outputs here (albeit the sites look down at the moment): https://linux-hardware.org/?probe=b0168ae6f4 / https://bsd-hardware.info/?probe=b0168ae6f4
(NB I had a similar/same-looking crash on the same hardware under 15.0-CURRENT, which I wrongly posted in a reply here - just in case that's relevant)
Thanks
S
