ZFS Cool video: OpenZFS Horror Stories

Pictures. Always draw pictures. "I'm going to create this mirror using these couple of things" draw the pictures.
Granted my configurations are simple, mostly mirrors, but reading and trying to wrap my mind around more complex things like multipath: pictures and consistency in labelling/use of labels.

But as said "don't pull the wrong disk" and the pictures and labels are to help you identify "all the wrong disks"
 
  • The Debian installer re-partitioned each drive, and added a 6 GB swap partition to it.
  • Linux "initializes" swap partitions by writing a repeating ASCII pattern like "linuxswap".

    Therefore 6 GB x 24 disks was gone :eek:
