Configuring GDM

Hi

It seems that i haven't got the right permissions for GDM.
After the Install of GNOME some systemusers wasn't created so i have added them self.

Is there a Guide who tells me what i have to do? Currently GDM doesn't shows me no users.

A "dirty" way is to give the gdm user a login shell and let it run [cmd=]gconf-editor[/cmd] and set the options you need. Runnig [cmd=]su[/cmd] might work too - afterwards changing the login back to nologin.

If that is no option, you may create a temporary user without pretty much anything and let this user run [cmd=]gconf-editor[/cmd] then copy over the created .gconfd directory into the home directory of gdm.

About the specific users - in /usr/local/etc/gdm/home/.gconfd.mandatory should exist and inside the %gconf-tree.xml file.

That can be edited to match your needs:
