Yesterday I installed CDE which I had not used since the early 2000s on AIX. I'm presently using a Lenovo N580 with 2G of memory and was using Mate but had some quirky behavior, such as, when moving a terminal window it would slowly kind of float and not drop where I wanted it. CDE just kind of popped into my head, so I got the source and just followed the instructions with no errors.

Now my floating window problem is in the past and everything seems "speedier" which I would guess is much less memory being used. It is also nostalgic using it. Since I like Plan 9's Rio window manager, CDE kind of resonates with me being more minimal.
