Cities: Skylines doesn't launch

I'm really wanting to get Cities: Skylines to work but whenever I attempt to launch it, it acts like it's going to then the button on Steam reset back to "Play" and doesn't launch.
I can, however, play games like HL 2, HL, Gary's Mod, and Borderlands 2; all through the linux-steam-utils. None of the Windows games play via Proton, either, but I don't think that's really working at the moment anyway?

Oh, and I'm running a Ryzen 5 3400G with an Nvidia GTX 1050.
32GB RAM.
Nvidia driver version: 535.104.05 (as proclaimed from nvidia-settings - pkg says 535.104.05_1).
I also have linux-nvidia-libs-535.104.05 installed.


Any suggestions?

The _1 is the PORTREVISION.

When starting Cities Skylines the Paradox Games Launcher will be initialized, if the launcher is not starting then the game will not start either.

I do have used a guide on how to walkaround the launcher in a good way. I do recommend the section "Traditional Method (Windows)".

When say you recommend the "Traditional Method" are you suggesting that I use Steam through Wine?

No but you can enforce to use proton for that game instead trying to use the linux version.
