Other Cinnamon locks me out

I have Cinnamon and Gnome installed, Cinnamon is set as default.
I'm able to login normally using my user password but when I leave it idling for some time till the screen goes black, the DE locks itself and requires re entering the password, when I try using my user password that I used to login to unlock the system, it tells me that this password is not true (tried both my user and root passwords and non worked) to be able to re-login I need to reboot, any ideas why this happens and how to stop it?

Workaround: You can switch to another tty and use the command ps -ax | grep cinnamon then find the process id and use the kill(1) command

I hope that helps you until the bug is fixed.
