Changes to bsd.default-versions.mk

Can someone please tell me where to find announcements of changes to bsd.default-versions.mk.
Mailinglist, rss or something
freebsd-ports@ mailing list.

I suspect you're wondering about the recent change to MySQL 8.0?

caught in the act ?

Yes, it was the change to mysql8 which crashed my poudriere. I didn't know that such major changes also happens with minor updates (p6 -> p7).
I will subscribe to the list and hopefully it will not happen to me anymore. I'm glad i have only to build 700 packages. Running a buildserver with all 30k must be a nightmare.

Thanks to all
Gav

This is quite a busy mailinglist, so be aware of this.

Tip from the trenches. Set the defaults yourself in poudriere's make.conf. That way you won't be caught out.

This is a change in ports and is therefore unrelated to updates of the base system.
Yes. This is a very important distinction with FreeBSD, compared to most (all?) Linux distributions. The ports/packages have nothing to do with the version, major, minor or patch, of the base OS. The ports and the base OS are separate entities.
