There's a small but noticeable difference in the x11-fonts/cantarell-fonts package between version 0.303.1 and 0.301. Specifically the BOLD variant. Best demonstrated by the following screenshots. Notice how the Cantarell Bold font on the second one (the 14.3 system) is slightly wider and 'squished' with a little more spacing between letters. I don't think the problem is with the font itself or the version of FreeBSD. I just don't know where to start looking to track down the miss-configuration (if there is one).

Hardware is exactly the same (virtual machines). Only difference is versions of installed software and OS.
