Can't add extentions to iridium when using FreeBSD

Greetings. Continuing to report apparent issues to collect statistics. It is to be expected that this will lead to many posts when "properly exploring" a new system for the first time.

This problem has already been reported on the OpenBSD forum, which adds to the plot. Even though this forum is dedicated to Free, not Open, BSD, I think if I was asked about such an issue, I would want to know this.

Coppying from the OpenBSD post:
OpenBSD 7.5 with cwm as window manager.
Chrome (chromium) from packages runs fine and I'm able to add extensions from the chrome store.
Iridum from packages runs also fine but I'm not able to add the same extensions as I used in chrome (or just themes).
With iridium I just get an immediate "Download failed" error if I try to add a extension.
(My version of OpenBSD might be different -> I have computers with FreeBSD, and OpenBSD)

I find it of further interest that this user is also using cwm, just like me.

That thread also mentions a FAQ for Iridium, and I agree with the poster that it does not seem to address the problem, at least not directly.

To end this, I have now tried installing Iridium on Ubuntu. I assumed it would be easy, and the add-block extentions would work. ..I have not yet succeeded. It is not available via the software center, and google has not helped either. So.. I no longer take Iridium seriously as a browser. Maybe for really seriously technical people, but I'm not there yet. So I see this post as a public service, for others investing in the same exploration. I just installed Falkon, out of curiosity.

Iridium's FAQ page explains that some extensions do not work due to its privacy and security settings.
