Cannot run KDE4

Hi to all,

I'm pretty new to the FreeBSD world: I am trying the latest FreeBSD 10 on an Intel machine, I could install both the OS and KDE4 (in this case both compiling and using ports) but I cannot make KDE4 run, in particular I can't configure it through Xorg -configure, the system simply freezes and doesn't let me do anything else, I'm obliged to reboot .

Any ideas on what I could do to understand what I'm doing wrong? Every hint will be very appreciated (and yes, I already searched through tons of posts and forums :) nothing brought me to the solution yet) .

Greetings

What kind of hardware does the machine have? In particular what graphics card?

Hi and thanks for your reply .
I am dealing with an Asus motherboard ( P8H61-M LX ) , which has an integrated graphic card , an Intel ( Quick Sync Technology Support ).

Greetings

What type of processor does it have? The integrated Intel graphics is dependent on the type of processor. As far as I know there are still some issues with the Intel Cores based on Haswell.

This is the output of sysctl -a | egrep -i 'hw.machine|hw.model|hw.ncpu' on my machine :

Code:
hw.machine: i386
hw.model: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2100 CPU @ 3.10GHz
hw.ncpu: 4
hw.machine_arch: i386

Greetings
