Solved Cannot make system bell stop

Please, Please, Please. Can someone tell me how to stop this beep, beep, beep?
Every tab I press on gnome-terminal, I hear a beep. My nerves!
I tried this on /etc/sysctl.conf

hw.syscons.bell=0

but no luck. I am almost ready to toss the laptop from the balcony!

That normally does work with syscons(4), but vt(4) does not support it yet.

There might be a completion setting for the shell to disable it.

In the meantime, have you tried playing with kbdcontrol(1), as in kbdcontrol -b off? Not tested with vt(4) though.

and the bell is still beeping.

How does xset b off work? That might be the solution as long as you are in X11.

Ok! That worked! How can I do it permanent on Gnome Desktop?

Maybe some autostart setting or look at the xrdb documentation. But I fear that these old-and-tested ways of storing setup information will not be used in GNOME. So, no idea there

Ok. Solution found! I created a .desktop file into /usr/local/share/applications calling the command and I put the program to autostart using gnome-tweak tool! Solved!
