Perl cannot execute mysqltuner.pl script

Hi,

I am trying to execute the mysqltuner.pl script in order to see in what state why /databases/mariadb102-server database but it look like I need to install perl.
When I run pkg search perl, it return a very long list of possibility..
Could anyone please advise if perl5-5.26.2 is the correct application to install?
Is there a better script out there to do database tuning?

Just try databases/mysqltuner. I've also used databases/tuning-primer but that one needs to be modified to be able to work on MariaDB 10.x.

If you want to try the script you found, lang/perl5.26 is the correct one. Script looks fairly old though, it might not be able to cope with anything released after MySQL 5.5.

Are you referring to databases/mysqltuner or databases/tuning-primer

Is databases/mysqltuner ok out of the box for mariadb10.2

I was referring to the script you linked to. But that said, tuning-primer is rather old too, it doesn't understand anything after MySQL 5.5. The mysqltuner should be fine though, that one works for MariaDB too.
