Solved Can autofs replace sysutils/automount ?

I just discovered that FreeBSD has autofs(5) daemons, so my question is - can it replace sysutils/automount for removable USB media? Usually I use NTFS for compatibility with my work computer. sysutils/automount tries to guess filesystem, how autofs(5) do it? I found no information in man pages.

It should be able to---see the "-media" special map in auto_master(5) for information on that---but I believe it only works with UFS and FAT filesystems.

Yes, I use it all the time for mounting USB media.

/etc/autofs/special_media uses fstyp(8) to determine the filesystem on the device. And yes it has support for ntfs-3g.
