Just some information:
As I did a buildworld / Buildkernel today to adjust for the latest security advisories , I was also forced to rebuild the Nvidia card and DRM drivers.

If you're using NVIDIA driver ports in old-school way (without graphics/nvidia-drm-*-kmod*), the situations would be quite rare.
On the other hand, as LinuxKPI often breaks KBI (Kernel Binary Interface), rebuilding for graphics/nvidia-drm-*-kmod* are nealy mandatory for every LinuxKPI upgrades.
So if you're NOT using Wayland (which usually requires graphics/nvidia-drm-*-kmod* to run) nor hybrid GPU configurations like Optimus (which mandates graphics/nvidia-drm-*-kmod* to run), stop using graphics/nvidia-drm-*-kmod* and stay with old-school (UMS: User Mode Setting) way is adviced.
