Hi. I tried to install FreeBSD 10-RELEASE 64-bit on my laptop (released in 2009) but shows a BTX Halted error on its first boot. I already tried searching for solutions here in the forums and mailing lists but problems and solutions of users vary:

https://forums.freebsd.org/viewtopic.php?&t=24527 --> no reply
https://forums.freebsd.org/viewtopic.php?&t=15910 --> used a boot only ISO
https://forums.freebsd.org/viewtopic.php?&t=16305 --> very similar to my issue
I tried the Plop Boot Manager (through Plop Linux installed in a thumb drive) but it cannot detect my CD-ROM. I cannot upgrade my BIOS because Linux is the installed OS.
