Broken system after after zfs upgrade

I have broken my freebsd setup (14.1-RELEASE) due to *not* upgrading bootcode after zfs upgrade. Damn. Now I can't boot - I see EFI console with info about unsupported features.

I decided to try to fix it from from FreeBSD live thumbrive.

Seems like I can't geli attach due to some errors in metadata, so I'm ready for reinstall.

But I want data from my old system, as I had yet to backup them (series of bad decisions on my side). I can move them to a thumbdrive and copy them on fresh install.

However, I can't mount the old zroot on freebsd live usb drive because the filesystem is read-only - it imports, but can't mount.

What is worse, seems like after I imported it on live-usb, the pool is not mouted on boot and i can't even get back to EFI console now.

What should I try next?
