Solved Availability of native boot on r-pi 5?

I have heard rumors that release 15.x is supposed to support native booting on R-Pi 5, but I do not seem to find any official word about it. Is there anything to the rumor, or is it just a rumor? If there is any substance to it, when is 15.x supposed to released? Again all I can find so far is "in the future", which is not greatly informative. ;)
