Solved Asus Z790 Realtek 2.5GBE LAN not detected

Hi, I just installed FreeBSD 14.2-RELEASE-amd64-disc1 (from USB) into a new PC with Motherboard Gigabyte Z290 D DDR5. This motherboard has a Realtek® 2.5GbE LAN chip (2.5 Gbps/1 Gbps/100 Mbps) that is not detected by O.S.

It seems that this nic is an RTL8125 (according to pciconf -lv).

How can I install the driver without network connection?

Yes, at this time igc(4) is the only supported 2.5Gbit ethernet out of the box. For the Realtek you'll need net/realtek-re-kmod. But that will be a bit of a chicken and egg problem; you need a working network to install the driver in order to get the network working. Although I do believe they've included the package on the DVD image now.

I was able to install it by connecting the cellphone via USB cable and enabling tethering, works wonderfully.
