Solved Asus Laptop wireless card

Hi,
since rtl8821ce is not supported (yet) I would like to switch to an Atheros card. The problem is that the cards I found has half-size pcie format but the Laptop (Asus FX505DT) has a full-size card with one bolt. Do you have any recommendations or do you know an adapter half-life to full-time with one bolt?
Thanks in advance.

They do make an adapter for half size miniPCIe to full miniPCIe.
But they do make full sized Atheros cards which are vastly superior in my opinion.
Looking for AR5BXB112 which uses AR9380. This is a good card that is used in many Apple products.
They do have 3X antenna connections so use Channel 0 and Channel 1 if you only have two antenna leads.
Commonly found on ebay for cheap. Here is a new one for 15 bucks.

Second choice is based on AR9280. The AR5BXB92. It is older but works fine.

Here is a half to full adapter if you must:

I found this type: Atheros QCNFA222 AR9462 which should fit as confirmed by the seller. Let's see if it's working properly...

Looking around the internet I see that you laptop does indeed use an M.2 slot for wifi.
Mounted underneath the M.2 SSD slot. So the QCNFA222 should work.
