Having some strange behavior with my amd gpu.
Had to change DP cable as it was faulty but still have issues with new cable.
using arandr to set up my screens ( 2x2560x1440 1x3840x2160 ) and then modifying file to add refresh rates but then hitting issues.
image1.jpeg - deactivated bottom right screen trough arandr and activated again - left screen no artifacts. 2x right screens 1440p 165Hz refresh rate, left screen 4k-60Hz.
image2.jpeg - refresh rate 120Hz or 144Hz after one screen deactivation and reactivation after image1.jpeg.
image3.jpeg - arandr saved file - restarted Qtile no refresh rates added to file.
image4.jpeg - artifacts covered if i open app.
image0.jpeg - FreeBSD loading screen - no artifacts.
Behaviour of the image3.jpeg is very odd as if i open terminal or firefox or anything - artifacts stays behind, not visible.
If i edit arandr generated file and set refresh rates - sometimes i can start my WM sometimes PC crashes after i launch Qtile.
I start everything trough startx command. No artifacts before hitting startx.
Running drm-515-kmod and FreeBSD 14.2-STABLE - fresh install , less than 24h ago. drm-61-kmod gives me blank screen.drm-510-kmod is not working with FreeBSD-14.2-STABLE
My GPU is equipped with DP-2.1 and 4xDP. My DP cable is 1.4 rated to 120Hz but runs 144Hz as well. Other cables running to other monitor was provided with monitors.
I thought its my GPU at first - but then i started to change cables and noted it was cable, not GPU so both myself new DP-1.4.
Still not tested with Linux nor Windows - later one is not possible - having issues if i try to dd windows iso to usb from linux or FreeBSD.
Did some re-search - people where having some issues with multi-screen setup as well and artifacts on one of multiple screens and some people reported that artifacts disappeared after a while, some having artifacts which is seen even if you open app or watch video etc. and my artifacts get covered if i open something.
