Are you fit?

That's an astute observation. Understanding the problem is often the trickiest part of the battle. Now attack it like you'd attack an out-of-control process on your production FreeBSD system.

I am making a bit of headway, that is, my belt buckle is not as tight as it was several weeks ago. I also eat salads on a daily basis. My walking sessions are gradually working. I'll be the first to admit that I lack will power (with late night snacking) especially during high periods of stress. I think I am going in the right direction. Thanks for the insights. :)

"Healthy Mind In A Healthy Body", ain't that right? Well, having to sit almost all day behind the PC (for work and fun) actually makes you crave for physical exercise to balance it, along with the need to bathe in sunlight when there's an opportunity and breathe fresh air in some park or the beach. (I live in Portsmouth, England where we're lucky to have both) Also, along with hacking systems I decided to hack my diet in order to keep going... ;)

I'm not really fit. But I work 9-10hrs a day, the physicality of the work can vary. One day I may have to handbury lines in rock-hard ground, crawl around under houses, or in attics... But the next day, I may not have to anything more physical than climb a ladder a few times throughout the day. I do not have an exercise regimen at all, because by the time I get home from work, it's shower time, then dinner time.. Then it's "Play with the 5year old kid" time.. going to a gym is expensive, both in terms of money for a membership, and in terms of gas and time. There's a -close- gym, but he charges 30 bucks a month.. Otherwise, I'd have to drive 20 miles round trip.. in a clunker that drinks gas like nobody's business.. and I'm a cheap SOB.

Am I huge blob? No. Could I be in better shape? Most definitely.

6ft, 210lbs.. My ideal weight is 195lbs.. so.. I'm slightly overweight..

One of the first things to think about, before considering exercise is what kind of nutrition are you putting into your body. Cut out some of the more harmful things and after awhile you don't miss them. Did you know most people that eat meat only need a serving (the size of a deck of cards) three times a week? When I used to eat meat, a deck of cards was less than my daily intake. I'm putting fish and chicken in my meat category. But, I'm sure the deck of card guideline refers to red meat.
