Solved It hangs on the installation system load.

Hi,

Sorry if there is a similar thread, but after searching for problems like this and find nothing about it, I have decided to post my question:

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X395 (AMD) where I would like to install FreeBSD 13.1,
but my problem is that every time I try to boot the installation system from a USB, the system load hangs at the point:

acpi_acad0 <AC Adapter> on acpi0

I have tried with the -STABLE branch installation image and the -CURRENT branch, but they all hang at the same point.
I have searched for quite some time and can't find anything about it.

I have a Linux openSUSE installed on the machine, so I can provide data that may be interesting. Just let me know what you need and I'll post it here (lspci, dmesg, etc).

Please, could someone help me?

Are you running the latest bios available?

Yes. Excuse me if don't be clear but my problem is with -RELEASE branch. I also tested it with the other two branches with the same results.

Toggle the verbose boot in the bootloader menu to get more information about the boot process. Share what you got.

Great news!!! As Diizzy said, just a BIOS update served to grant the FreeBSD install.

And just for people searching for just this thing, earlier this year I had exactly the same problem with a Thinkpad T495s which was solved with a BIOS update. (Now my favorite daily driver to carry to work and back home)
