Solved SCSI error HARDWARE FAILURE

Hi everyone,

I'm Italian and my English is not very good, so sorry.

I'm trying to install FreeBSD 10.1 (disc version on amd64 platform) but I have this error:

Code:
"SCSI sense hardware failure asc 3e,2
(timeout on logical unit)"

I tried to search in Google how to work around this problem. I checked the CD I'm using for installing but it works fine with an other PC. I tried to change hard disk and I also tried to change SATA cable, but nothing doesn't work.

I can't post a screenshot, but the same problem is described in the following link

http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-bugs/2014-December/059680.html

Thank you beforehand

Unfortunately, the PC is too old to support booting from USB, but I think I've solved just waiting n retries, then the installing process is started.

Thanks SirDice for the answer, my problem is solved and this thread can be closed.

Bye

If it has SATA I doubt it's too old to boot from USB. Booting from USB has been around a lot longer than SATA.

Edit: Scratch that, it's a SCSI system (which doesn't use SATA cables by the way)
