I created a vale switch and attached my NIC
I created a bhyve VM and attached to port "vale0:vm1".
I set "pomisc" mode for my NIC and can connect to my local network. However performance is very poor.

What's the difference between vale and a bridge? The only thing that I gather thus far is that bridge is a simple forwarder, irrespective of the destined mac address, whereas vale will verify based on the mac since its a switch? Is this an over-simplification or accurate or mistaken?
I can't make heads or tales of the vale-ctl command. My goal is to create a virtual switch, and then attach epairs to them, then pass those epairs to jails and see if they can communicate without setting up routing.
