I am using R13 on a RPi3B+ with the Official Raspberry Pi 7" Touch Screen Display.
In my other FreeBSD systems, the screen turns off by itself after some minutes (like a screen saver).
This doesn't happen with my RPi setup.
What controls this feature? How can I activate it?

I'm using i3 window manager but for some reason my screensaver no longer times out. I restarted my workstation for the first time in many months so I wouldn't know what I had updated that may have affected this.

If I use sc, when I exit Xorg I get a blank screen. The handbook suggests I use vt, which works but doesn't have a screen saver. So I'd like to use sc.
There is something that is not yet clear to me.

When I try to return from Xorg to pure console (either by killing Xorg or with ctrl-alt-f2) I get a blank screen.
The handbook says enabling vt(4) will fix the problem. And it did.
But then the screen saver wouldn't work:
