Awhile back we ran FreeBSD 10 (and 9 before that) using the vmware tools supplied by ESXi. Last year we upgraded the servers to FreeBSD 11. And we substituted vmware tools for open-vm-tools.
We keep getting these errors on boot:
vmx0: link state changed to UP
KLD vmmemctl.ko: depends on kernel...
