    Nvidia PowerMizer

My current rig: EVGA 680i mobo EVGA GTX 260's The manufacturer shouldn't matter (they are just reference boards using the same unified Nvidia driver).

    Nvidia driver won't load - 195.22

First, how did you install the driver? Second, you don't have both of those cards installed together do you?(e.g. SLI board). You can do this in Windows (1 card for graphics, the other for physics).

    Nvidia PowerMizer

Doh...just noticed...you have the 'Coolbits' option in the wrong section. It goes in your Screen Section. Here's my xorg.conf settings for the Nvidia card (obviously your BusID will be different): Section "Device" Identifier "Device0" Driver "nvidia" VendorName...

    Nvidia PowerMizer

Also, I can turn off adaptive clocking (set it to 'prefer maximum performance) and the cards up-clock to the default settings even in 2D mode.

    Nvidia PowerMizer

It's working on my rig (2 x 260's, driver = 195.22). What driver are you using? Try removing the option "RegistryDwords" "PowerMizerEnable=0x0" from your xorg.conf file. I don't have that option and adaptive clocking works just fine.

Suggestions for a solid x58 mobo

Hi KS... Yes, SLI is supported (using the Nvidia driver of course). I currently use it on both x86 and AMD64 platforms (2 260's). Sorry for the confusion...yes...SATA rev. 3 is what I was referring to. Thanks for the response.

Suggestions for a solid x58 mobo

I am updating my home rig (getting the i7 920 or 930) and I would greatly appreciate any suggestions what mobo's work well with FreeBSD. Requirements: 1. SLI 2. can OC relatively easily 3. reliable vendor with good support policies. I like EVGA boards but I am also looking at the...

    driver for ati radeon

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you're going to have to use the Xorg Radeon driver. ATI doesn't have a driver for FreeBSD. That driver should be available in the x11-drivers ports I believe. I know you can choose it when configuring/building X.

    OpenCL

I know it's probably been asked before and my apologies for bringing it up here. I am just curious if the team has had any contact/interest w/ the various card makers about implementing OpenCL. I was dabbling in it this week on Linux (yes, I felt 'dirty') and would definitely like to see...

    The Failure of the GPL

Hehe, people are finally catching on to this dilemma? About 12 years ago, Mr. Stallman and I had a very lengthy discussion about the GPL and what constitutes 'free'. While I respect the mans intelligence...I have to say I've never really found the GPL to be 'free' in what I consider that term...

    Newbie in the place!

Welcome to the wonderful world of FreeBSD. I'm new on these particular forums, but not new to FreeBSD (have had it installed in one fashion or another since rel 4). As a desktop, it's certainly not as 'easy' (relative term here) to get configured/running as say Ubuntu however what it lacks in...
