    ruby-bdb won't build with ruby-1.9.2.0

Thanks. It looks like this port isn't compatible with ruby-1.9. Upstream has not touched it since 2008.

    ruby-bdb won't build with ruby-1.9.2.0

Hi, I am attempting to upgrade my ruby-1.8.7 to ruby-1.9.2.0 along with associated packages. I'm finding that ruby-bdb fails to build because of require 'features' in work/bdb-0.6.5/src/extconf.rb. Not being at all familiar with ruby build mechanisms, I am seeking advice on how to...

Problems with DHCP after 7.2 to 8.0 upgrade

I think synchronous_dhclient acts as a global switch but with syncdhcp you can apply the setting on a per-interface basis (if I'm right in thinking a dhclient is assigned per interface). Quite likely, for my case of a single DHCP-managed interface, the two are equivalent but I don't like to...

Problems with DHCP after 7.2 to 8.0 upgrade

Excellent suggestion blairchen! Changing my vr0 configuration in /etc/rc.conf as follows fixes the problem. ifconfig_vr0="syncdhcp polling Now when I execute /etc/rc.d/netif restart a DHCP-assigned address results.

Problems with DHCP after 7.2 to 8.0 upgrade

@blairchen: Thank you for that information. It's good to see that I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. I'll give it a try. @SirDice: Removing the polling option didn't have any effect.

Problems with DHCP after 7.2 to 8.0 upgrade

    The, networking-related, lines from rc.conf are: gateway_enable="YES" hostname="router.darlow.co.uk" ifconfig_vr0="dhcp polling" ifconfig_vr1="inet 192.168.0.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 polling" ipv6_enable="YES" static_routes="multicast" route_multicast="-net 224.0.0.0/4 -interface vr1" This is a...

Problems with DHCP after 7.2 to 8.0 upgrade

Running dhclient vr0 does what you expect: 1) Sends DHCPREQUEST 2) Receives DHCPACK and interface is bound to an IP address

Problems with DHCP after 7.2 to 8.0 upgrade

I think the significant part of your output is the no link .... got link. I don't get the DHCPREQUEST/DHCPACK output when I try the same thing. What specific version of 8.0 are you running? I am running RELENG_8_0

Problems with DHCP after 7.2 to 8.0 upgrade

Hi, I run a FreeBSD gateway with a DHCP-assigned external address. I haven't changed the networking configuration since upgrading from 7.2 to 8.0. Under 7.2, when I executed /etc/rc.d/netif restart, you would see the DHCP-assigned values before the ifconfig output during the network...

    PHP 5.3.2 (was: php 5.3.0)

PHP-5.3.0 is not a trivial update. Existing applications will require modification in order not to break when used with it. I am certain that Alex is aware of this and is exercising caution in doing any update which could have far-reaching consequences for users. I know from experience, with...

    p5-Image-Magick...where is it?

The port is graphics/ImageMagick There are a lot of OPTIONS that control what gets built so I would run make config in the port's directory before building and installing. The perl option builds and installs Perl::Magick

    Update MySQL 5.0

You need to be very careful about performing this update. The procedure I followed was:1. Shutdown mysql and mysql-dependent services first 2. Use mysqldump to backup database mysql tables db, columns_priv, tables_priv and user (you should not need this) 3. Use mysqldump to backup your other...

suhosin reporting canary mismatch with php-5.2.10

I'm running 7.2-RELENG and apache-2.2.11 and php-5.2.10 (modular) with Suhosin patch and extension enabled. Since upgrading from php-5.2.9 to 5.2.10 I've been getting a lot of blank pages returned for php page requests. The php error log reports canary efree() mismatch and apache error log...
