    The FreeBSD SysAdmin's Favorite Tools

Ditto. Although you can use Bacula with ZFS, you loose the NFS ACL bits. Tis' a shame really, because otherwise Bacula just rocks! Perhaps once ZFS sees critical mass with the penguinistas we'll see that change.

    The FreeBSD SysAdmin's Favorite Tools

Too many to list but one in particular worthy of mention is portmaster. I used portupgrade for years, and it was a godsend in it's day, but for last couple have replaced with Doug Barton's excellent portmaster /bin/sh based so no need for additional packages such as Ruby, db4, etc. Also...

    Licensed based Forum software ?

In the interest of addressing any possible confusion, I was NOT referencing "every FOSS-solution out there" but rather providing Phorum as specific example in the context of performance. Been a couple years since I put them head to head though so your mileage may vary. I'll leave the reader to...

    Licensed based Forum software ?

I think the question is valid. Obviously the choice was not made on license but rather other technical considerations. Having managed several boards in in the past, I, for one, would be very curious to know, as I assume a pretty thorough evaluation involving other major offerings such as SMF...

is freebsd installation on ZFS possible?

Please correct me if I'm in error but this is still "experimental" status, no? If OP needs ZFS boot on production box, they may want to take a peek at Solaris 10, Update 6, wh/was recently released and offers officially supported ZFS root by Sun (or other OpenSolaris based distro). Sun MFC'ing...

    Desktop Usage Forum Hierarchy

Another hierarchy suggestion w.r.t. the Desktop Usage section: KDE & Gnome are probably huge enough to warrant separate sub forums in their own right. Also, since these topics are often topic of heated holy wars, it may save a few admin/mod headaches to put a bit of space between respective...

    Forum Hierarchy

Minor niggle here: FreeBSD Forums -New & Announcements -Feedback containing only two subforums is a bit confusing, as "FreeBSD Forums" should imho reference the whole enchilada... Else resultant hierarchy for subforum looks like FreeBSD Forums > FreeBSD Forums. See breadcrumbs here if above...
