i have a MSI Wind, not running FreeBSD now, but research a lot about it's hardware so, the only thing that is keeping me from trying is the RTL8101E ethernet and RTL8187SE Wireless LAN, that don't have native BSD drivers, that linux have, and the intel 945G graphic xorg driver is giving me so...

i can assure you have an intel graphics card... look around a little and you'll see, this is an xorg + intel drivers issue, i tryed everything you can found on google in linux + freebsd forums, irc chatrooms, etc... the only way i can think of it's to downgrade to the latest "stable" xorg...

Well I decided to try out freebsd in my netbook (msi Wind), but I have some doubts about the "partition" scheme and the "slices"... - do I need a huge slice, and put every partition there? or it's better to have a slice for every partition or for a couple of them? - it's the /home dir inside...

dont worry, i'll buy a dvd burner and install from there :) but it'll be nice to have the img files along with the isos, maybe in the near future :)

arch linux have *.img together with the *.isos, and with them you only need to dd to a pen drive and you can boot it in a netbook, i think is a much cleaner way to install it than using unetbootin (which also i cant make it work for installing freebsd in my msi wind, so i visited...

I tryed everything and i can't boot into the freebsd installer, i already tried freebsd_7.2-RELEASE-i386-disc1.iso the same but bootonly, and 7.1-RELEASE-i386-disc1.iso with same corrupt kernel error, i don't understand whats the problem... in arch linux they have an .img file and the .iso so...

how do you installed it in the first place? i downloaded the disc1 iso and copy it to my usb pendrive with unetbootin, but i cant boot because it says it cant found the kernel to boot
