It just did it again, as I was making a port:
===> Registering installation for libtextstyle-0.21 as automatic
Installing libtextstyle-0.21...
Child process pid=19098 terminated abnormally: Bus error
*** Error code 138
Went to the VM and found that its screen is covered in
vm_fault: pager...
After I have installed updates today pkg began to throw the error in subject and dump its core (static does the same).
So I cannot install any packages or make install any ports.
Any ideas how to fix this?

I am on the up-to-date 13.1. It is running in a VB VM. Got errors after leaving it overnight.
My FS is ZFS stripe of 1 drive (all installation options default, auto-partitioning used).
I would, if it only worked. It hangs on my hardware during the kernel boot.
Had the perpetual, ever accelerating upgrade bug of Linux and Micsosoft bitten FreeBSD already? It is sad if it had.
Under 11.2, Mate has no CPUfreq applets. They exist under the port tree but not under Mate installed as a package. Is that applet package available separately?
FreeBSD 11.2 on Asus P5GC/MX-1333 with i945GC chipset does not shut itself down.
I issue shutdown now but it always stays on "shutdown has arrived".
If instead I press the power button then it shuts down. Is my install missing anything necessary for shutdown?
They are current for my FreeBSD version. And I do not see a version signature in the FAQ URL, so I am not sure what you mean by "old links". Please elaborate.
At https://docs.freebsd.org/faq/x.html the link to https://docs.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/x-config.html is broken. It used to work. Could you please restore the correct link?
Thank you!
The only editor that can still open 200+ MB files under Xorg is... tada! nedit. Vanilla XWindow interface. F k progress! I am for functional and working software. fvwm is still around and it is telling. Gnome 3 should have never been accepted in any distribution, but everyone just winked.
