    2014 Forums Migration To Xenforo

Is there a flat theme available without all of the annoying JavaScript pop-ups? I've given the new forum code a try, and I know missed features are back, but I feel like I'm on a wedding forum instead of a software-based forum.

How is FreeBSD coping with a systemd future?

Really? I tried to install OpenBSD 5.5 on my Haswell/Optimus Toshiba laptop, with a i7 CPU and Artheros Wi-Fi and Ethernet. The graphics weren't accurately detected, and it couldn't detect my network hardware. Ended up going with Arch Linux.

My desktop comparison of FreeBSD and OpenBSD

To put it in an easier to understand way: know Unix thoroughly and only bother people when you know for certain that it is a non-user error. But how can you know for certain unless you ask sometimes? What I like about OpenBSD is most, if not all, of the configuration files are located in one...

    Opera Coming Back to BSD?

I don't know "ak@freebsd.org", who is the maintainer, but the source came from some where. My understanding was that Opera never supported BSD and the code was pulled from Linux, hence why there hasn't been an updated version since the Linux version was pulled.

    Opera Coming Back to BSD?

No, the question mark was intended. :) Wasn't Opera ported from the Linux code?

    Xorg intel HD4000 problems

I have 3 Intel HD laptop variants that support this quote - HD3000 and HD4000 run fine, and the Haswell/Optimus-based laptop is stuck with BSD virtually.

    7-Zip (7z)

If not specified 7z is the default compression. If you want to specify then it would be 7z a -t7z file.7z source. If you want to set ultra compression too then it would look like 7z a -t7z -mx=9 file.7z source. I've tried using the update switch (7z u -t7z -mx=9 file.7z) on a compressed file but...
