Should Xconsole or Xlogin control the back of the login prompt? I mean the large area behind the login "square"
Xlogin*background: cross_weave
XConsole*background: cross_weave
to no avail.
I saw Xorg had an entry 1024x768. But VMWare can't maximize it when my monitor is 1280x1024 with sidebar and taskbar at the bottom and on the right. How can I do so?
Thanks,
Jack
I've tried. But Can't come to the effect I want.
It seems like it was the R3 and R4 X11 configuration.
How do you get the hatch, particularly interested in that?
Thanks
Jack

I'd like to have this.
Thanks, SirDice, you're so helpful

I start commenting out the Xconsole line of the Xsetup_0 file.
It works for "root" and it doesn't work for other accounts. (can't login)
And The system becomes very unstable
When I type the user name on the graphical login screen and password, it says the username/password is not correct. When I change it back (tyvs, off xdm), I can login thru the text login prompt.
Thanks
Jack
I can't login to FreeBSD after installing xdm. I used 'root' as the user when I changed ttys
file. As I log back in using single user mode, there is no text editor that I can use to change it back to its normal condition.
How to make myself loginable to the system again?
Thanks
Jack
