Finally a Network Manager for FreeBSD!

I might also add; What's in /var/log/messages after running the command? If you switch to the opening ttyv0 via Ctrl+Alt+F1. Do you see any output related to the application?

Finally a Network Manager for FreeBSD!

How did you start it? Given it's an X app. I'd assume you opened a terminal and (as root) networkmgr & -- note the trailing &. Otherwise the it'll be run in the foreground and your terminal will be locked until the process has terminated or completed. You could also manage this as a normal user...

Thinkpad T480 about Intel Graphics 620 & nVidia GeForce MX150.

I'm with alx82 , on that. I just got around to fine tuning the sound on that Laptop, and found audio/pulseaudio just works. :) Was even able to setup Sound Events in the WM with relative ease. --Chris

What mail client do you use, and why? (not a poll)

scottro , Ah. Another (neo)mutt user. :) TBH I get a warm fuzzy feeling reading mail in POT (Plain Old Text). Probably due to my being a computer geek since the 70's. But still, any MUA less inclined to anything but text, for email. Gets high marks from me. TBH if I had my choice. I'd turn my...

I can't get the USB thumb drive to work

OK this is crazy. mrredeyeflight , please take a moment to provide some useful information. What you're (currently) doing; is the equivalent of calling a mechanic on the phone, and saying "my car is broken". How do I fix it? Do you think that mechanic can tell you how to fix it, without a...

...and yet another Claws user. Looks like I might just "take the plunge". Thanks, Phishfry for taking the time to weigh in! --Chris

    Embedded Swag

Yep. That HP is capable of some pretty great engineering. Back in the beginning they had a magazine (forgot it's name. Been a l-o-n-g while -- early/mid 80's). Really low-level geek stuff. The stuff that created the beginnings of what we now call "computer technology". They had the best minds in...

Nice! In that it packs all those NIC ports. My only gripe would be the power dongle. Well, and maybe the Intel CPU. ;)

Hmm. Three claws-mail reviews. Looking like a bit of a favorite. If I may; what draws you to Claws, over the other (mail client) options? Thank you, fernandel for taking the time to weigh in! --Chris

Solved Dual boot, invalid argument during partition creation

IIRC Windows 10 supported GPT partitions. I'll have to test this. I haven't (personally) bothered with testing a copy of Windows, since 7. Off to find a copy of Win10... --Chris

Solved Dual boot, invalid argument during partition creation

For the record the easiest (and safest) way to approach this. Is to install Windows last. It's covered in the FreeBSD Handbook. The upside to doing it this way. Is that the NT boot loader will become your boot menu, and add FreeBSD to the list. I don't suppose you have any other media you could...

    Midnight Commander under vt

search what port/package provides file "x"

make depends makes the dependencies. Which is far from showing the dependencies. :) So. No. I meant show-depends. But you're right in the respect that it doesn't (necessarily) show where a file came from. But my intention was to show there are other ways more powerful than pkg to learn about...
